Beneficiaries and Coverage
Today’s Medicare beneficiaries are a diverse population––demographically, economically, and in health status––and they have a broad array of Medicare coverage options from which to choose. The Commission routinely examines the characteristics of Medicare beneficiaries and the different types of health care coverage they receive through Medicare. We also pay close attention to the quality of the care beneficiaries receive, disparities in access to care or care outcomes, and the financial burden of health care costs on the Medicare population.
